Vigil for Visas: Update on Legal Action

We sent our pre-action protocol for judicial review to the Home Office on Friday, giving them until 4pm on Tuesday, 10 May 2022 to respond. Our previous statements, including those made in the crowdfunder, remain correct; this is an update.

Our crowdfunder met its initial target within 24 hours, for which we are very grateful, enabling us to take this step. The “stretch target” for the next stage is attracting ongoing, much-needed, donations.

It is not a step we wanted to take. What we wanted to do was welcome our guests, help them settle in,  and enable them to live in a peaceful place while war devastates their homeland.

We have had no choice, because of the desperate position the applicants are in, the inexplicable delays, and the fact that the Home Office simply does not respond to queries, notify anyone of hitches or problems, or decide visa applications in any rational order.

Please keep supporting this cause by joining vigil on Wednesdays and Saturdays, 2pm – 4pm in front of Home Office in London. Or by donating here.

  1. I contributed to this legal action and still have members of the family I am sponsoring waiting for permission to travel/vignettes. The MP advised last week that all we’re approved but still no formal notification. Would it be possible to have a further update on the legal action? Wasc their a response on 10 May? What did it say?

    1. Hi Julia – yes we have need since this morning. Please see the latest on this website. Regards Katherine
