Call for evidence: email us if you have been waiting for visa for over a month

As you may know Vigil4Visas have asked for a Judicial Review to request the Secretary of State for the Home Department to process Ukrainian visa applications in chronological order.

We are claiming the present system is unstable and incoherent. We applied for the Judicial Review on 12 May 2022, and asked for an expedited hearing, in view of the potential consequences of delays for Ukrainians fleeing war.

The Judge has declined the request to expedite the hearing.

We have just over two weeks before the Case will be heard. We are therefore asking for further evidence from Hosts who are still waitingespecially those who have waited for one month or longer. We know of many harrowing and distressing cases – and we would be incredibly grateful if you can send us further evidence – if you are still waiting.

FYI: a number of the visas submitted as evidence for the Judicial Review have now been granted – but by no means all.

We have not submitted a JR case merely to get OUR cases resolved – we want the Home Office to grant ALL visas applied for, in a methodical and proper way.

Please email the main facts of your case – without mentioning any personal data – and we will then be in touch if we can use your case as evidence.

Please us email asap to [email protected]

  1. Seven and a half weeks and counting…

Hello. We submitted an application under the Homes for Ukraine on 28th March for a lady on her own, leaving her husband and son behind to defend.
We have been in touch with our MP twice who reports that the application is “in process.” Since then, nothing.
Our guest is still in Poltava, Ukraine as she is concerned to leave without a destination/ date.
I hope this example helps with your information gathering.

  2. EIGHT WEEKS AND COUNTING: Applied for visas for mom and 12 year old twins on 20 March. After 5 weeks, and many phone calls and emails to anyone and everyone including local MP, discovered that they needed to attend VAC in Warsaw for biometrics. 11 hour bus journey to get there (that was 26 April) and told “to go back to Ukraine/war zone and wait 4-6 weeks”. While they wait in Warsaw (4 weeks) we have paid for food & accommodation (almost £2k). Speak w/ MP’s office every day and am told EVERY DAY that the approval is in its final stages and will come in next few days.
